Personal Information As of this writing I am 5 weeks shy of my 40th birthday. I have been married to handsome, hardworking, supportive hubby for just about 19 years. We have 6 awesome kids. The first questions people tend to ask me is,,are they all yours? or did you give birth to all of them? Yes people actually ask me that all of the time and the answer is yes! I've been a stay at home mom since our first child was born in 1988. I have been homeschooling for 12 years. I am certified through ISSA as a personal trainer. I work out at home by myself so I have to be very self-motivated. |

Pets Well, I LOVE animals. We have Goliath, a big, black hairy 95lb mix. We have Sadie the pug. Tilly, my new kitty, Milo, the blue tabby, a goldfish, Capt. Jack Sparrow ( male sparrow I raised from a hatchling) and my son also has a white mouse named Asher. Welcome to our Zoo! |

When did you start in your sport? Hmm. At the end of 2002/beginning of 2003, I did the Body for Life program and made a huge transformation. That was the start of my love and interest in health and fitness. It was then that I decided to pursue getting certified as a personal trainer. Over the course of the next 2 years I continued working out, but I wasn't consistant with it, or with my nutrition. Didn't fall completely away from it, but never pushed myself to be better or do better. Then last May, right on my 39th birthday, my Dad challeneged me to do a bodybuilding competition that was to be held on May 6th, 2006, right on my 40th birthday. My first thought was no way. But a challenge always peaks my competitive nature so I got on board. So, over the course of the last year, I got consistant with my training, cleaned up my nutrition, finally passed my ISSA PFT exam, went to Monicas F.E.M. camp, learned how to walk in high heels and decided Figure is where I would do best, rather than Bodybuilding. In getting ready for my competition on May 6th, I decided to do the Northern Kentucky Championships which was March 18th. So that was my first show. |
|
Awards/Titles I placed 3rd in my class the Kentucky Northern which is an NPC national qualifier. |

Best moment so far in your sport I hate to be in front of people and I do not like being the center of attention. I avoid it at all costs. So when I was the first figure competitor to get on stage at my first show, and I was able to do so without too many nerves, and enjoy what I was doing, and be proud of my accomplishments, that was a great great moment! And the fact that my hubby was so proud of me and my kids are so proud of me, especially my two teenage daughters. I don't think it gets much better than that. |

What do you enjoy about your sport? I love the way I feel when I'm at my best. I enjoy feeling strong. I enjoy setting goals and meeting them. Most of all, I enjoy being able to inspire other women to be the best they can be, no matter where they are at. |
|
What are your goals in your sport? Can I be honest and say I don't know? I am going to do a couple more competitions and decide where I want to go from there. A long term goal is to continue to lead a healthy lifestyle for a very long time. I want to continue to educate myself so that I can help others. I'd like to turn my home gym into a private studio to do personal training and encourage other women and teach them to be successful with their own goals. |
